JACK RAVI The Ungathering

This artist book workshop is an evolution of Jack's first workshop, Wanderlust & Wonder. It carries the same spirit of curiosity, experimentation, and exploration, now enriched by deeper experience, new discoveries, and several more years of living closely with the work. At its heart, the workshop is an invitation to embrace the unexpected. Participants will begin things they cannot finish in the way they first imagined, only to discover that what emerges is often richer and more meaningful than the original plan. Here, surrender becomes part of the creative process, and the work itself becomes a guide.

Over four immersive days, participants will create their own symbols, bundle and dye, rip and bind, and gently tear open what they have made to reveal what was waiting inside all along. They will make marks that cannot be corrected and build pages that refuse to follow expectations, allowing the process to lead the way rather than forcing a predetermined outcome. Through trusting this process, each participant will create an artist book that is uniquely their own.

About the WORKSHOP

Jack Ravi is a mixed media artist and teacher whose work explores memory, identity, loss, play, and the stories we inherit without choosing. Working with found objects, vintage photographs, artist books, assemblage, and collage, he creates visual poems that transform humble and anonymous materials into renewed meaning.

His teaching is rooted in the same values as his artistic practice: presence over inspiration, process over product, and the belief that anyone willing to engage deeply with the work has something worth making. Having taught thousands of students online and led intimate in-person retreats, Jack creates spaces where curiosity, intuition, and discovery can flourish.

For Jack, Les Soeurs Anglaises has long been a place of sanctuary — inspiring, nurturing, and full of possibility. Returning to share both this special place and his creative practice with others feels deeply meaningful, and he looks forward to welcoming participants into an experience of making, experimentation, and creative surrender.

GLORIA GELO The Space of Place: What Remains

1st - 7th September2027

In this five-day retreat, participants explore how a place shapes the space within us. Through noticing, collecting, collage, monoprinting, and mark-making, they immerse themselves in the château and its surroundings—its light, textures, gardens, and rhythms. Gathering impressions and fragments of attention, participants gradually refine what resonates, allowing the essence of a place to breathe on the page.

As the week unfolds, recurring themes and forms begin to emerge, revealing the foundations of a personal visual language. This workshop is not about collecting France, but about expressing what it leaves behind—and discovering what remains.

About the WORKSHOP

Gloria Gelo is a contemporary abstract artist, designer, and mixed media instructor based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Inspired by nature’s seasonal rhythms and organic forms, her work explores the interplay of shape, balance, and composition through painting, photography, collage, and printmaking. Characterized by elegant simplicity, a modern graphic sensibility, and a nuanced palette rooted in the natural world, Gloria creates refined abstract works that invite quiet contemplation.

Her creative practice is continually evolving, while remaining grounded in a desire to challenge conventional ideas of design and visual language.Alongside her studio practice, Gloria teaches online courses that encourage creatives to unlock their artistic confidence and develop their own distinctive voice. She studied Fine Art in Ohio and now works from her studio in Canada.
