Space to imagine, time to create ….
It's been a while since my last newsletter, during which time the world has managed the impressive trick of changing beyond all recognition while somehow remaining reassuringly familiar. Here in one of the greenest corners of France, the summer has been relentlessly hot, and our greatest creative achievement has often been finding the shadiest spot in the garden. Even so, we've squeezed in a couple of musical collaborations and, rather proudly, our very first mini-festival, L'Espace Sauvanie. Now, with just two workshops left this year, our thoughts are already turning to 2027.
We're delighted to announce three exceptional artists: Jack Ravi, Ramiro Clemente and Gloria Gelo, who will be joining us next year; and to open the season a Creative Retreat, for which, for the first time, I will be leaving the kitchen and leading myself . All four events are planned for the gentler weeks at either end of summer, when the light is softer, the pace a little slower, and making feels altogether more enjoyable.
As always, we're keeping the groups small. It means more time with the artists, of course, but it also creates something less tangible: better conversations, unexpected friendships and the pleasure of learning not just from the tutor, but from the people around the table. Somehow, those moments between the workshops often become the ones people remember most. We'll be sharing full details over the next few weeks, but if you'd like first choice of workshop- and perhaps your favourite bedroom too - you'll find everything you need on our website.
