Les Soeurs Anglaises offer a combination of luxurious suites, single rooms and dormitory style accommodation; some are luxurious, all are elegant and comfortable and located within extensively planted, mature gardens with two heated salt-water swimming pools.

The C19th Maison de Maitre consists of four double, en suite bedrooms (two with extra single beds for those who want to share) decorated in a mix of traditional French and modern styles. It sits alongside a burbling stream and there is a  11m x 5m outdoor, heated, salt-water pool nestled amongst magnificent mature gardens.  A two minute walk from the studio conversion, the Maison de Maitre is where meals are served, ideally in fine weather beside the pool or alternatively in the grande salle.

L’Espace, is the superb, newly converted studio building (recently featured in Architectural Review) with its huge, cantilevered terrace and fabulous views across the valley.  The interior is uber-stylish and comfortable and consists of three twin en suite bedrooms, three twin with 3 shared bathrooms, plus a communal sleeping mezzonine for four.  There is a large kitchen, a smaller kitchenette for coffee and teas, and a second outdoor, salt-water pool a few steps below the terrace.

  • Wi-Fi is available throughout the property
  • Projector and large screen for Powerpoint presentations
  • Towels, linens, soaps, hair dryers, and fans are all provided
  • Walks and bicycling on the quiet surrounding lanes are available

Our goal is to make Les Soeurs Anglaises a “green” environment, using only eco-friendly products and energy saving equipment wherever possible.  We also offer free use of our space to various charities as well as a position as Artist in Residence throughout the year.

Les Soeurs Anglaises workshops are situated in the heart of the Dordogne countryside, with its sublime scenery, hospitable cafes and bistros, charming villages and hamlets, quiet back roads, polite motorists, and of course fabulous food making it one of the world’s great original destinations.

In addition to its chateaux, churches, bastides and cave fortresses, the Périgord region has preserved, from centuries past, a number of wonderful villages which still have their market halls, dovecotes, tories (stone huts), and abbeys. The numerous regular local markets offer participants plenty of opportunity to rummage.

The stream running around the property meets la Sauvanie, and ultimately la Dronne in the Perigord Vert region of Aquitaine, and is situated half-way between the bustling towns of Angoulème and Perigueux, not far from the historic villages of Brantome and Aubeterre.
