Workshop venues come and go, but for the last 10 years Les Soeurs Anglaises have been offering truly inspirational creative experiences in a historically rich part of South West France.  Our workshops and venue offer so much more than a few days of teaching from expert artists and makers; whether visiting as a group, or simply seeking an escape with true like-minds, Les Soeurs Anglaises pwill provivde you with a real opportunity to (re)discover your innate creativity, free from the stresses of everyday life.  The choice of what you do, how much and when, will be entirely yours and we’ll actively encourage you to go at your own pace. We offer a quality range of standard and superior accommodation, lovingly prepared, delicious food and wine, and a gloriously safe, warm and welcoming environment that encourages you to relax and enjoy the stimulating company of those with similar interests with no outside pressures.   So come and immerse yourself in what you love, with people who care, and leave us to make your visit here exceptional!

THE MUSEUM OF THE KIND AND CURIOUS with Julie Arkell

Julie returns annually to Les Soeurs Anglaises to lead her hugely popular workshop and for this, our 10th anniversary, she will be inviting participants to make things that have mysterious, enigmatic and alluring qualities.  Introducing brocante finds, wool, fabric  and papier maché , objects will be made that sit very happily in the Museum of Kind and Curious! KNITTING IM-MERCERIE, with Åsa Tricosa

6-12 SEPTEMBER 2017, 5 DAY / 6 NIGHT WORKSHOP

THERE ARE NOW ONLY 3 PLACES REMAINING ON THIS WORKSHOP

During the first half of this workshop Åsa will cover the basics of her celebrated Ziggurat Method, (a true all-in-one-everything-built-in-as-you-go knitting technique), to make one of her simple sweater patterns.  The second half of this Knitting Im-Mercerie will be aimed at more experienced knitters (or those who have attended the first two days). Automata are mechanical figures or sculptures constructed to act as if by their own motive power, and have a wide appeal to people of all ages – they are powerful and enigmatic objects. This is a unique, week-long opportunity to work alongside a renowned master-maker on a collaborative project, discovering and sharing his wealth of automata skills and techniques.
