Les Soeurs Anglaises workshops are situated in the heart of the Dordogne countryside, with its sublime scenery, hospitable cafes and bistros, charming villages and hamlets, quiet back roads, polite motorists, and of course fabulous food making it one of the world's great original destinations. In addition to its castles, chateaux, churches, bastides and cave fortresses, the Périgord region has preserved, from centuries past, a number of wonderful villages which still have their market halls, dovecotes, tories (stone huts), and abbeys. The numerous regular local marches offer participants plenty of opportunity to rummage.

Our maison de maître sits alongside a burbling stream that meets la Sauvanie, and ultimately la Dronne in the Perigord Vert region of Aquitaine, and is situated half-way between the bustling towns of Angoulème and Perigueux, not far from the historic villages of Brantome and Aubeterre.
