Workshop overview

After Claire's incredibly successful Workshop here in May we have booked her for a return visit in 2010 with the emphasis this time on designing and structuring your own knitting items, looking at swatching, yarn choices and substitution, and altering and designing patterns. The workshop will include finishing a small accessory as well as beginning a larger design of your own choice. There will be time during the workshop to visit yarn and fabric shops and markets.

Other subjects to be covered on this workshop will be:
Pattern reading, manipulation, adjustments and experimentation: so bring along patterns that have puzzled you, or favourite projects you wish to vary.
Choosing yarns, fibres and weights: substituting yarns, using up stash.
Looking closer at yarn fibres judging:yardage and substituting.
Looking for inspiration: colour ideas, bought and found items for mixed media pieces or customising.
