With the success of both her cookery school and subsequent Pop Up dinners, Louise Pickford - food writer, stylist and owner of Come Cook in France will be leading an in-depth cooking weekend, where food lovers can discover the delights of the culinary traditions of South West France. Louise’s food philosophy is very much about using the season’s best produce to create delicious but simple, honest dishes and she has a definite flare for pairing Asian, Middle Eastern and North African flavours with more traditional Northern European ingredients.
The long weekend will kick off with an evening meal, prepared and cooked by Louise, welcoming you all to the course. On the first morning you can accompany Louise to the largest weekly market in the region to discover the season’s best local produce. If you like, this could include a pastry and coffee at the market rather than breakfast at the accommodation.
Light lunches will be provided each day.
After breakfast, on mornings two and three you are free for you to relax and spoil yourself in the beautiful surroundings, by one of the two pools, or take a walk through the stunning countryside. Extra cookery classes can also be arranged as can visits to local producers or food stores. All three afternoons will be spent with hands on cooking, preparing the evening meal with Louise. She will demonstrate some of the more complex dishes teaching you how to prepare meat, fish, seafood and vegetables. It will be all hands on deck, slicing, chopping, searing and roasting. Participate as much or as little as you like.
Each evening meal will be a four course dinner, where participants, hosts and Louise will sit down to share the wonderful meal prepared together, accompanied of course with complimentary wines.

With a wealth of cooking and styling experience, Louise Pickford has worked with some of the the best chefs, food writers, stylists and photographers from around the world. After a successful career in food publishing, Louise moved to the Charente with her photographer husband (Ian Wallace) in 2015 where she set up a successful cookery school. She is the author of over 30 cookbooks and has also served as food editor on several high profile food and lifestyle magazines in both London and Sydney, including Options Magazine, BBC Vegetarian Food Magazine, Inside Out, Real Living magazine and Grazia UK. She writes regularly for Food & Travel Magazine, Delicious UK and Australia, Sainsbury’s magazine and many more.

Travel day - you will be sent information regarding transportation to Les Soeurs Anglaises (pick-ups are generally late afternoon) from Angoulemetrain station and Bergerac airport. Welcome, Meet + Greet dinner at the house.
Morning at the marché. After a light lunch there will be an introduction to L'Espace Studio where the evening meal will be discussed and prepared.
Free morning to relax. Light lunch followed by again discussing and preparing the evening menu together.
Optional free morning relaxing or a cookery class with Louise. Light lunch followed by again discussing and preparing the evening menu together.
Brunch followed by departures before lunch.

For the Food Styling & Photography Workshop we require a 170€ non-refundable deposit to secure a booking, the full balance being payable two months prior to the start of the workshop.
