Les Soeurs Anglaises

An Imagined Elsewhere

JA logo1.jpg

27th JUNE - 3rd JULY 2018

5 days / 6 nights

Julie returns annually to Les Soeurs Anglaises to lead one of our most popular workshops.  In 2018 she will be inviting participants to make things that have mysterious, enigmatic and alluring qualities - literally a personal imagined elsewhere.  Introducing brocante finds, wool, fabric  and papier maché , objects will be made that sit very happily in "The Museum of the Kind and Curious"!

the Project

Don’t miss this opportunity to be fully submerged in Julie Arkell’s world, be inspired by her original work and gain an insight into her working methods. Over 5 early-summer days you will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and develop your own ideas under her expert guidance using a mixture of papier-mâché, embroidery and knitting. Found objects are critical to Julie's work and to help you discover their importance we will be taking time out on one of the days to visit a local brocante in search of pieces of vintage fabric, wool, broken toys and found objects to use in your work.

This project is limited to 10 participants
